Eric Prydz album dropping in March 2009

Earlier ITM was on the phone with Sweden’s Eric Prydz, with the elite DJ/producer chatting about his upcoming tour of Australia and his relationship with the Swedish House Mafia, as well as sharing some frank revelations on how he’s finally faced his fear of flying. Another exciting tidbit was confirmation from Prydz that he’s readying his long-awaited debut artist album for release early next year, a project that will see the light of day underneath his revered Pryda pseudonym.

“There will be a Pryda album, it’ll surface around March next year. And it’s mostly going to contain all new material,” Eric told ITM. When queried on whether the material would remain dancefloor focused, or if it would see him exploring some new downtempo territory, he confirmed it’ll be a release that’ll be geared to satisfy his many fans. “It’s going to be a mix of ‘listening stuff’ and dancefloor focused stuff, but it’s all going to have that recognisable Pryda thread running through it.”

It’d be an understatement to say that Eric Prydz’s debut tour of Australia has been keenly awaited by the dance community – up until now, his fear of flying has meant that he wasn’t able to face the long haul flight to our shores. However, Prydz says he’s pumped for the tour over the New Year period, and he had the following message for his Australian fans. “I just wanted to say that I’m so excited to be coming down. It’s going to be great seeing everyone, and I’m really happy that so many people are really excited about me touring. It makes me wanna come even more!” he told ITM.

Looking forward to it.
